1 camera 4k shoot for instore appearance

As part of our experiments in filming in 4k we captured local band Shambolic playing downstairs at Vinyl Tap records as part of the Huddersfield Hat Festival.
All filmed handheld on a single camera! Downscaling the video from 4k to HD allows for zooming in 200% without loss of quality almost creating 2 cameras in one. Very useful when travelling light and filming in tight spaces on a budget.

Video No 2 for Relics’ Beast Market EP

Huddersfield music video comnpany Pixel Factory have completed the video for Relics’ second song from their Beast Market Ep. Death By Lead. In keeping with the song’s warning about the danger of children sticking pencils up their nostrils (bet that’s not the theme you were expecting), a handrawn pencil look was applied to footage filmed during the same gig at the Parish that was used for the Frankenkilla video. Like a modern day Aha video at a fraction of the budget! This was also added to some of the band’s self shot studio/ gig footage.

The video has helped them secure prestigious support slots with some of their idols including Discharge, Spizz Energy, The Members and The Quireboys.

With perfect timing for Halloween, we shot a fortnight ago off the cuff for Huddersfield band Relics.

The song Frankenkilla is from the EP Beast Market, named by an area of town yards over the road from where the video was recorded

The concert was filmed handheld with a single camera and then cartoon effects were added to go with the cartoon theme of the band’s artwork.

Sonic Image Music Video was set up last year as the music video wing of Huddersfield-based video production company Pixelfactory.tv

After making our first videos a decade ago, the new opportunities afforded by the current crop of camera and software technologies allowed us to step back into the “arena” and finally make the quality of video we had always strived for on a low budget. This allows us to provide, not only cost effective, professional quality videos for local bands looking for online and TV exposure for their promos, but also a much higher production value for low cost for larger, established bands.

In the last year our work has included a range of videos for Yorkshire-based acts as well as documentary footage to be used on channel 4, festival videos. The highlight of our year has been put in charge with access all areas to document an ongoing 2012 Arena tour.
